  I learned many different techniques from creating this film. The program Premiere Pro makes it very easy for editors with all the different options it has. I also learned the struggle creators have with time constraints. Only having two minutes to get our point across was a fun challenge that tested our creativity. I am very proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone for this film. I became proficient in a program that I had never used before and confident in my knowledge in different camera angles and their effect on film.

  There were shots that had us laughing in the background and I was able to delete the audio from the video. Then, I copied the audio from another scene and placed it over the video with the laughing.  To add suspense to a film, I dubbed the sound of the timer from the phone over the last scene and deleted the original audio. Drowning out the original audio was a very good decision because it shows the audience that the main character was in distress. This would have set the mood for the rest of the movie and hooked the audience in. 

     From filming, we realized our time limit would become a problem. We had to cut out a lot of our storyboard. This was hard to do because the scenes where the main character was at school was going to help us develop her character. Instead, we really have to focus on sound and mise en scene for character development. My partner was more experienced with the different camera shots, so I was in charge with learning how to use Premiere Pro. To begin, I needed to use the source monitor to look at our footage to mark what we needed. Then I would move it onto the timeline. I learned how to use the razor tool in Premiere Pro, which has now become my favorite tool to use. The program is very straight-forward once the names and the functions of the tools are understood.  (The Source monitor where I would mark the scene)

    When we presented our project to our classmates, we received a lot of beneficial feedback, but also noticed mistakes we eft in ourselves. Before presenting our project we had many exporting issues which caused many mistakes. For example, we noticed we misspelled our title and left in a background noise that can easily be fixed, but was overlooked at the time. One main issue that our classmates focused on was the audio. My partner and I debated on whether to use music or not, but the general consensus during the peer review was that we should add more music. However, one classmate brought up the idea of having the alarm playing during the second half of the movie. Right now, our project does have the alarm playing but there is also background noise. Our classmate suggested having the alarm sounds be the only noise to give it more of an ominous feeling. My partner and I want to do this since the main character’s pregnancy is not something she was expecting and the alarm...

       We had many issues with importing the movie from Premiere Pro to Youtube. Some of the shots and music were missing. Even though we were very stressed, we were able to pull through and finish our first draft.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDoxoL_YP_E
